Built with the same flexibility and integration capabilities you’ve come to expect from Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the new NAV 2017 will transform your business processes and take your organization to the next level in terms of simplicity, function and business process improvement
Every software has a product life-cycle and typically when your version is 5 years or older, it’s about time to look at upgrading the software. Besides the end-of-life support, other factors do creep into the picture, such as your organisation changing needs, technology compatibility, enhanced features in the newer versions etc…
Mobility & Speed
The mobile applications are slick, streamlined, easy to use and super-fast in NAV 2017. The mobility is very suitable for the road-warrior users such as Sales and Management.
For the back-office staff, the user-based enhancements such as global-search is well liked, so you no longer need to select a field first to search. It also comes with templates for creating customers and vendors to improve productivity.
Office 365 experience: Microsoft has done this by adding things like:
- The ability to invoice customers, based on entries made in the calendar.
- In the email section, there are buttons that integrate NAV with emails.
- From the contacts list, end users can manually sync NAV contacts with O365 people. The contacts will sync back to NAV as well (filters can be applied).
The seamless integration to export your report to Excel, refresh new lists and charts at the touch of a button is another powerful add-on.
Embedded Power BI
NAV 2017 comes with embedded Power BI functions so that you can easily create charts and reports that you need to see and put them on your Role Centre. Now, you can get all the information you need at a single glance whenever you log on to your Role Centre.
NAV 2017 sets the standards for customization without altering the original NAV application source codes. With Extension, all customizations will still have the flexibility of customizing the system to your specific needs, without changing any original NAV codes. That will ensure that all future upgrades are hassle-free.
Effortless Financial Statements
In the Dynamics NAV 2017 upgrade, financial statements can be done handily and without a hitch. Microsoft has added a few default financial reports like:
- Balance Sheet
- Income Statement
- Cash Flow Statement
- Retained Earnings Statement
Microsoft added account categories and sub-categories. This makes it easy to group general ledger accounts to best suit financial reporting needs. Users just need to specify the account category in each G/L account so ledger entries in this account are categorized as assets, liabilities or expenses, etc.
