Dimension Filter Builder in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Benefit: Allow user to define multiple dimension filter in General Ledger Entries

In previous version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, General Ledger Entries are only able to filter two (2) Dimension Code. For additional dimension filters are required to use Analysis Reporting. This could ease user to filter dimension value more efficiently.

There is a new feature which allow user to define multiple dimension filter in Chart of Account and include the value of General Ledger Entries.

Below are the steps to define multiple dimension :

i) Search Chart of Account

ii) Go to Navigate > Account

iii) Go to Dimensions > Set Dimension Filter

iv) Define the Dimension Code and Dimension Value to filter.

Example: Dimension Code: Salesperson equal to Dimension Value: PS

Tip: Allow multiple dimension combination filter

v) Chart of Account update accordingly as the filter.

vi) Check into General Ledger Entries

vii) All entries have the dimension code Salesperson and Dimension Value PS.
