– Dynamics NAV Short-cut: Drop Down List

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 “Drop Down List” Filter Method

Target Audience: NAV User, Functional Consultant

Where-used: Drop Down Listing in All NAV Function Area

E.g. Go to Sales Quote, and on Sales Quote Lines

  • Position cursor at “No”
  • at right of “No”, left-click “down arrow”
  • click on “Description” label/title
  • click “Set the Default Filter column”

With the Item “Description” set as the default filter column, you can search for the Item together with “wild-card” character. The wild-card character “*” means any-character in the search filter, eg “*Storage*” means any characters in front of “Storage” and any characters after “Storage”, so basically any Item with “Storage” in the Description.

It’s time to reduce the work-load.
