EIK decided to embark on a digital transformation journey as part of its expansion plan. Kicking this off, the team undertook a review of all its workflow processes, internal management and communication systems, and total visibility of its manufacturing processes.
Upon completing its internal review, EIK’s management team realized that its existing accounting system could no longer support its organization. It needed a modern ERP system that could grow with it, to cater to the expanded requirements of its finance, manufacturing, servicing, and warehousing operations.
EIK Engineering (EIK) is a leading specialist manufacturer of amphibious excavators, application-specific machines, and a wide range of high-quality excavator attachments for various makes and models. The 2012 Asia Pacific Honesty Enterprise and Honesty Project award winner has two factories in Johor, at Iskandar Puteri & Ayer Hitam, and regional offices in Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak, USA, Singapore.
EIK’s facilities are ISO 9001:2015 & 14001:2015 certified which includes robotic welding machines for booms & buckets, multi-million-dollar CNC Laser & Plasma cutting machines, CNC line bore machines, CNC milling machines, paint room, and automated sandblasting facilities. With these, EIK is able to deliver high-quality products in a shorter lead time for its customers.
With business operations across different continents, EIK’s digitalization plans will not be complete without cross-border integration. “This will help solidify our digital transformation, bringing all our entities, divisions, and departments into total integration and at the same time with better communication serving our customers and suppliers,” says EIK’s General Manager.
“Through the Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP, we will improve our production workflows, finance processes, and logistics communication. We are confident that this move will improve employee productivity and efficiency so that our team can truly focus on the business, where it matters most, as we expand our global footprint, instead of technology issues and workflow processes. ”
EIK Engineering has set its sights on expanding its global presence. It will focus on investing in continuous improvements to its manufacturing capabilities, and core business function automation.
“We will also be investing in the Netronic Visual Advanced Production Schedule,” adds its GM. “Together with Business Central, this will enhance our efficiency through manufacturing scheduling to achieve maximum optimization by automating coordination between customer deadlines, supplier lead times, and our manufacturing capacity.”
In terms of how the system will blend into its existing operations, EIK is looking to engage CRT’s expertise to optimize the ROI of the investment. “The Business Central ERP system, built upon with advice from CRT’s functional experts, will enable us to track all our production metrics and harness that information into richer intelligence, and allow us to make better business decisions.”
